As Director of the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center System, I am privileged to work with great individuals and organizations across Texas. This project is the culmination of 20 years of planning and work, beginning with Dr. Kent Adair, Dr. Darrel McDonald and the first stirrings of GIS at Stephen F. Austin State University. It is a great honor for me to have this opportunity to continue the work.

Over the years I have been fortunate to be associated with a great many talented geospatial professionals. I served as a founding director of the AmericaView Remote Sensing Consortium, Chair of the Internet 2 Geospatial Working Group, on the Board of the Texas GigaPop, as well as other state and national organizations. I currently serve on the REDDnet steering committee and the SURAgrid Governance Committee. Involvement with these organizations allows me to combine two of my passions: high-performance computing and geospatial science.

My background is in computer science, and I have been professionally involved with geospatial technology for many years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in computing systems technology and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies focusing on forestry, geography and agriculture.
